Event Details
Are you new to academia and looking for ways to connect with other scholars in or outside your field of expertise? Need to jump-start your career and are looking for mentors to guide you? Apply for the 2024-2025 Women’s Leadership Academy.

This program begins in September and culminates with attendance and participation in the SCWHE annual conference, which takes place in February. The Women’s Leadership Academy features three in-person sessions on October 11-12, November 8-9, 2024, and January 17-18, 2025. There will be two virtual meetings, December 4, 2024, and January 30, 2025.

The in-person sessions will begin on Friday at 3:30 pm on selected college/university campuses in South Carolina. On Friday, attendees participate in a tour of the campus and meet identified leaders from the President’s Cabinet of the host campus. WLA attendees end the evening on Friday with a networking cohort dinner. Saturdays include a full day of professional development training from 9:00 am – 4:00 pm.

The Women’s Leadership Academy participation fee is $400 per person and includes snacks, lunch, materials, and speakers on Saturday. For the in-person sessions, selected participants are responsible for their dinner costs, lodging, and travel expenses.

SCWHE is a nonprofit organization. Program fees are used to help defray administrative costs. The Women’s Leadership Academy is limited to 20 women per program year.
